Career Day Presentation Ideas for Hotel Professionals - Hotels are Fun!
How did you get into the hospitality industry?
Chances are, you fell into it. Like many hotel professionals, your first job might have been at the front desk or in housekeeping. What if someone opened your eyes to this business early in your life. Would you have started sooner?
I've had the pleasure of speaking about the hospitality industry at my kids’ school, for Career Day. During the presentation, I talk about the different positions and departments, the students got to share their hotel experiences and we did a few fun activities. Today, I'm here to share this easy and inspiring presentation with you, in hopes you can spread the word - Hotels Are Fun!
By the way – other parents have told me they “don’t want to go after this presentation, because it’s so good and the students love it!”:)

The Presentation (pass out handouts prior to starting)
Begin by explaining who are you and how you got into the industry.
Go through the questions in handout and have students participate.
Next, pass out muffins and talk about the Food being served in the hotel.
Hospitality Words – explain how students can use these words in their everyday life.
“After doing choirs….Mom, is there anything I can do to help you?”
“Thank you for helping with my homework”
“Welcome to my house”Get a few volunteers to help pass out the Hotel Towel Bunny supplies. Then talk about how housekeeping plays an important role.
Finally, pass out amenities and request questions from students.
The life lesson I shared:
“Always remember to be prepared when attending a meeting, by bringing ideas, a pen and pad”
After you present, please send me a message to let me know how it went. Thanks!
